Chichén Itzá Ruins

Experience one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World with your own private guide and walk through the ancient and magical city of Chichén Itzá. Known for its grand pyramid (El Castillo/The Castle), massive ball court, and extensive archeological ruins, Chichén Itzá is a must-see for those fascinated by how the Mayans thrived before the Americas were discovered.

We’ll also visit Cenote Sagrado (Sacred Cenote) where the Mayan people made human sacrifices! Don’t worry, you won’t swim in this cenote! Tours of the ruins usually take about 3 hours but feel free to take the time you need, ask your guide questions, snap photos or just walk around in awe at this angular and symmetrical wonder!

Add that the tour within the ruins will likely take about 3 hours.

Your Adventure

Cenote

After visiting the ruins, your guide will take you to a Cenote for a refreshing swim.

A cenote /seh-NO-tay/ is a natural sinkhole resulting from the collapse of limestone that exposes openings to the underground river system that traverses the entire Yucatán. Cenotes were used by the Mayans thousands of years ago as a source of fresh water or a place for offerings and sacrifices to the Mayan gods.

Today, they are a unique and refreshing place to cool off and swim in crystal clear water. Don't worry if you are not an excellent swimmer as everyone is encouraged to use a lifejacket.

Valladolid

Explore Valladolid, where you can delve into the history and culture of the Yucatán Peninsula. As you wander, discover the colonial-era ex-convent and church, the Convent of San Bernardino de Siena, constructed by Franciscan missionaries between 1552 and 1560.

In the heart of Valladolid's downtown, you'll find the Cathedral of San Servacio, named after Saint Servatius, situated in the main square of the city where you'll encounter a vibrant atmosphere with local restaurants and shops surrounded by Spanish architecture.

If you are a foodie, savour local cuisine such as Lomitos de Valladolid, Cochinita pibil, and traditional longaniza sausages.
